Today, Media Reform Coordinating Group-Sierra Leone (MRCG), with funds from the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF), completed the regional training for journalists in the southeast regions of Sierra Leone. In total, #66 journalists across the country have been trained on reporting on Transitional Justice (TJ) issues in Sierra Leone. All beneficiaries can now adequately report on TJ issues, create more awareness about the TJ mechanisms, and remind government and stakeholders of some of the TRC recommendations which are still yet to be fully implemented. The regional training is a major component of the project titled ‘Engaging Media and Communities to Change the Narratives on Transitional Justice Issues in Sierra Leone.
