The Media Reform Coordinating Group, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana, through the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has on 3rd September 2025 completed a two-day digital literacy and skills training for 25 female journalists, bloggers and activists at the SLAJ Office in the Eastern Region of Sierra Leone.
The participants were trained on various online rights issues including Digital Rights, Women’s Rights Online Issues in Sierra Leone, Online Gender-Based Violence Against Female Politicians in Sierra Leone, social media & Online Privacy, Identifying & Dealing with Online Abuses Against Women, Information Search, Processing and Visualization, and among others.
The training came at a time when most female journalists are facing challenges regarding their rights online and how to navigate their ways around those issues.
