In August 2024, the Media Reform Coordinating Group – Sierra Leone (MRCG) engaged students of the Faculty of Communication, Media, and Information Studies at Fourah Bay College-University of Sierra Leone, to discuss transitional justice. The engagement is part of the #MRCG’s project on changing the narratives on Transitional Justice (TJ) in Sierra Leone, with support from the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF). Under the project, the #MRCG is working with the faculty to support a media and transitional justice module component and train and mentor journalists on transitional justice. The introduction of the course is part of a recommendation in a previous #ATJLF project, in which lecturers of the department developed a manual on media and transitional justice.
