Dr. Francis Sowa serves as the National Coordinator of the MRCG. He holds numerous degrees ranging from BA (Hons), MA, M.Phil in Mass Communication and Ph.D. in Communications and Media Studies, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Dr. Sowa has also earned other national and international accolades and has greatly contributed towards the development of the country’s media landscape. Aside his unique leadership qualities, Dr. Sowa teaches at the Mass Communication department of FBC (USL) with over 20 functional years of media experience. He has also worked for reputable institutions like the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Services (now Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation) and the Independent Media Commission (IMC). His dedication to serving humanity has brought many success stories to his career and has imparted the lives of many including students and journalists.

Yassie Barrie is employed as Finance and Administrative Officer; she is in charge of the administration of the Secretariat. She served as student intern at the Fourah Bay College finance department, National Electoral Commission as Polling Agent (2012) and Hotel Mariam as the Accountant. She holds a Certificate in Population Studies (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from Fourah Bay College (USL), Freetown, Sierra Leone. She has wealth of professional experience in Accounting and Finance.

Head of Finance and Administration

Usman Bah serves as the Head of Programmes for the Media Reform Coordinating Group (MRCG-SL). He had previously served as Project Assistant and Project Officer of the MRCG. He has participated in a number of media projects ranging from the coordination of the Secretariat’s events in different communities, to capacity building of media practitioners across the country. Composed and self-possessed, Usman has a leadership voice and a sense of boldness in all his duties. As young as he is, he holds a proud Diploma with Distinction and a First-Class Honors Degree in Mass Communications from Fourah Bah College (USL) Freetown, Sierra Leone. Usman also has a wealth of administrative experience and leadership skills.

Augustine Squire James works at the Media Reform Coordinating Group as the Programmes Officer. He holds a Diploma with Distinction and a BA (Honors) degree in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College-University of Sierra Leone. He has worked as a reporter for Newswatch Newspaper and Covenant Newspaper with great desire for human interest stories especially judiciary and parliamentary reporting. Augustine has also served as a Fact checker for the Initiatives for Media Development (IMDev) in 2019.

Programmes Officer

Jonette-Ann Matilda Olufunke Greene holds a Diploma and BA (Hons) degree in Mass Communications from Fourah Bay College (USL), and she is employed at the Media Reform Coordinating Group as the Programmes Assistant. She had worked for organizations like BDO Auditing Firm and LEWAF as Enumerator and Assistant Advocate Officer respectively. Aside her position, Jonette primarily assist all the sectors of the office to ensure the smooth running of the Secretariat and has a vast experience in coordinating events.

Marion Conteh is employed at the Media Reform Coordinating group as the Finance Assistant. She has worked at First Discount House as Assistant Accountant. She is a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Accounting form the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) and currently pursuing an online Accounting Course.

Ishiaka Sannoh is a graduate from Fourah Bay College (FBC) - University of Sierra Leone (U.S.L) with a Diploma and a B.A General with First Division in Mass Communications. He is employed at the Media Reform Coordinating Group as a Project Assistant.

Patricia Christiana Sankoh serves as Program Support Staff. She is a holder of a certificate in Microsoft Office Packages, a Diploma in Information Technology, Diploma in PC Hardware Engineering A+, Diploma in Project Management, BA Honours in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone and presently awaiting her online BSc Degree in Information Technology at Amity University in India (PAN African). She has served as an intern for AD Media Sierra Leone Limited, The American United States Embassy, the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), a year experience as a Cash Teller at the Access Bank Limited, a year experience as a receptionist/Communications Officer at Crown University College and a year as a Secretary at Taylor and Associates. Patricia has a creative approach to projects, excellent social skills, outgoing personality, problem solving skills and skilled at using technology and social media.

Morlai Kargbo works as the Office Assistant at the Media Reform Coordinating Group. He holds a Senior Secondary School leaving certificate (WASSCE). Morlai also has organizational experience with regards keeping the Secretariat functioning.

Memunatu Fatima Sheriff is employed as Admin and Finance Officer; she runs the day to day administration of the Secretariat. She has over ten years of professional experience in Administration and Finance within the Commercial Banking Sector. She holds a Master of Science degree in Development Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography/Linguistic from Njala University, Freetown, Sierra Leone. At present, she is pursuing her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Joe Winston Scott- Manga currently serves as the Project officer of the county’s media development agency- the Media Reform Coordinating Group- MRCG-SL. He has participated in a number of media projects ranging from reporting to capacity building across the country. He is a versatile Radio and Television Anchor host with experience spanning over a decade in broadcasting with skills in News, talk and non- scripted format. Poised and confident, Winston has a strong speaking voice and a talent for on- air interviewing. He has worked and partnered with media organizations like BBN, IRN, Kftv and a host of other national and International Media Organizations with a strong knowledge of the dynamics of the Media Landscape in Sierra Leone. In his Professional Career, he has had national and international trainings in Radio Production.

James Harvey Holds a Diploma and a BA Honours in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College-University of Sierra Leone. He has been working as a freelance media practitioner since 2010 and has great passion for human interest stories. James served as student intern at Search for Common Ground-Talking Drum Studios for four months in 2012. He also worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Organization for Development Equality and Social Accountability form 2013 -2015. James is currently working as a Project Assistant at the Media Reform Coordinating Group-Sierra Leone (MRCG-SL).

Rebecca Kargbo has a Diploma and a Bachelor of Social Science in Peace and Conflict Studies from Fourah Bay College-University of Sierra Leone. She worked with JANAF Communications from 2010-2012 as Secretary. Rebecca also worked with Catco International Hotel from 2015-2016 as Admin. and HR Assistant. She is now working with the Media Reform Coordinating Group-Sierra Leone (MRCG-SL) since January 2017.
